What Makes Attorney Sandy Phillips Uniquely Qualified To Represent You?
Sandy Phillips graduated cum laude from Stetson University College of Law in 2005, with a concentration in advocacy. Prior to graduating, she went to work for the State Attorney of the 12th Judicial District of Florida, and continued working there after passing the bar exam and becoming a fully licensed attorney. During her tenure at the State Attorney’s Office, Ms. Phillips prosecuted many different types of crimes including juvenile and domestic abuse cases.
In 2008, Ms. Phillips moved to East Tennessee and opened her law practice. She continued to practice criminal law, but from the defense side instead of the prosecution. She has handled everything from traffic tickets to murder charges. Ms. Phillips also began taking family law cases and developed a strong affinity for helping families and children.
Ms. Phillips knows that when families are involved in the court system it is a very stressful time. Whenever children are involved in a family dispute, or when children get in trouble with the courts, the stakes are very high. Ms. Phillips treats families with dignity and respect and helps them get through some of the toughest times they will face.
Ms. Phillips has a great deal of training and experience with victims of domestic abuse and can understand and counsel those people who find themselves in that particular situation. Similarly, she can appreciate the difficulties unmarried fathers face in trying to gain custodial rights to their children. Grandparents often turn to Ms. Phillips to try to gain contact with their grandchildren when the parents refuse visitation. Ms. Phillips also has a great deal of experience helping families who are involved with the Department of Children’s Services.
